Pajero Sport offers more safety features than any other Mitsubishi vehicle. It even surpasses the requirements for the 5 Star ANCAP Safety rating, the highest category for safety. On every vehicle, youíll find an integrated system of safety features to elevate your safety to the next level.
Pajero Sport VRX offers intelligent, pro-active safety features for even more reassurance for you and your passengers. The Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM) detects when the vehicle in front of you is slowing. If you havenít applied the brakes, it will automatically slow you down to help avoid a collision. It even brings you to a complete stop if necessary. Thereís also a Blind spot Warning system, very useful in multi-lane traffic. The Multi Around View camera gives you a birdís eye view of whatís around you, which is a vital safety feature when youíre reversing. The vehicle even helps stop you moving into objects in car parks, by cancelling out unintended inputs from the accelerator.

Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology, commonly known as MATT, is a combination of traction systems. Itís what enables Pajero Sport to tow, haul and operate in all terrains, just as the name implies. Itís something that we developed in the Paris-Dakar rally. It worked so well it made sense to put it on our road vehicles. On or off-road, thereís no surer way of keeping control.
Hill Start Assist
If youíre on a steep hill, this system applies the brakes for a few seconds while you move your foot from brake to accelerator, preventing roll back. How civilised.
Active Traction Control (ATC)
This system is a feature of Active Stability Control and responds immediately to loss of traction. By braking the wheel thatís slipping and sending power to the others, it means you keep the path you intended as you turn or negotiate tricky surfaces.
Active Stability Control
Maintains stability and control when cornering, by automatically recognising under-steer and over-steer. It applies brakes to the appropriate wheels to keep you online through corners.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
This technology reduces stopping distances by detecting passengers or heavier loads and automatically increases rear-braking force.
Multi-mode Anti Lock Braking System (ABS)
This allows you to manoeuvre around objects under heavy braking conditions. Pajero Sportís intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system works in conjunction with the drive mode to monitor different wheel speeds and activate brakes to individual wheels when required to deliver superior control.
Daytime Running Lights
For added safety and improved visibility, Pajero Sport features daytime running lights. On VRX the headlights are LED, which use less energy and increase the vehicleís overall efficiency.
Trailer Stability Assist System
Trailers tend to be unstable things. Mitsubishiís Trailer Stability Assist system brings them back into line. Sensors detect sway, brakeforce is applied to the appropriate wheel and engine power is adjusted to stabilise the motion. The stop lamp is illuminated while the brake control of Trailer Stability Assist System operates.
Adjustable Speed Limiter
To ensure you donít go over the speed limit when youíre on the road, Pajero Sport features a driver adjustable speed limiter.
